Tomas Ambrozaitis studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and completed his Master’s studies at the Faculty of Arts of Klaipėda University. In 2000, he participated in masterclasses led by Italian conductor R. Alessandrini and undertook a traineeship at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” (Germany). From 2001 to 2003, he pursued Master’s studies at the Faculty of Arts of Klaipėda University. In 2007, he completed postgraduate (aspirantura) studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and was awarded the qualification degree of Licentiate of Arts.

He has worked as choirmaster of the Klaipėda Concert Hall Choir “Aukuras,” conductor of the Klaipėda Concert Hall Chamber Orchestra, organist and director of the Suma Choir at St. John the Baptist Church in Plungė, lecturer at the Choral Conducting Department of the Stasys Šimkus Conservatory in Klaipėda, and director of the String Orchestra at the Eduardo Balsys Gymnasium of Arts in Klaipėda. Under his leadership (2001–2011), the Kretinga District Culture Centre Chamber Choir received significant recognition in Lithuania and abroad, including: 2nd prize at the Lithuanian Mixed Choir Competition in Vilnius; the “Golden Bird” award in the nomination “Newly Shining Star”; and gold diplomas in the sacred music and national music categories at the International Amateur Vocal Ensembles Competition “In Canto sul Garda” (Italy).

He served as Chief Conductor of the Lithuanian Song Celebration (Millennium Song Celebration “Amžių sutartinė”) in 2007 and 2009, as well as of the Lithuanian Schoolchildren’s Song Festivals in Vilnius in 2014 and 2017. In 2008, he was awarded the Culture Prize established by the Kretinga District Municipality. From 2011 to 2015, he served as Director and Artistic Director of the Šiauliai State Chamber Choir “Polifonija,” and from 2015 to 2019 as its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor. Since 2012, he has been the Artistic Director of the Klaipėda Boys’ and Youth Choir “Gintarėlis.” That same year, he made his debut at the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre in a concert dedicated to the jubilee of Eduardas Kaniava and prepared and conducted the theatre production “Dreams of Broadway.”

Since 2017, he has served as Chief Conductor of the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre.

In 2017, for his merits to the education and culture of Klaipėda, Tomas Ambrozaitis was awarded the Queen Louise Medal. In 2018, he was a member of the creative team of the Song Day of the National Song Celebration “Vardan tos…”.

Since 2022, he has been leading and shaping the repertoire of the Klaipėda Choir “Aukuras.”

Tomas Ambrozaitis is a member of the Council of the Klaipėda Choral Society “Aukuras,” a member of the Council of the Lithuanian Choral Union, a choir expert-consultant at the Lithuanian National Culture Centre, and a member of juries for international and national choir and conducting competitions. He has repeatedly served as Chief Conductor of the Song Day of the Lithuanian Song Celebration.
