Dariusz Zimnicki – professor of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Head of the Department of Choral Conducting. 

He founded his first vocal ensemble at the age of 16. At that time he also took his first steps as a composer.

He is an alumnus of the Vilnius Conservatory and the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.

Since 2004 he has been the conductor of the Choir of the Warsaw Cathedral and the Academic Choir of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2011, he founded the Chamber Choir “Tibi Domine” at the Parish of the Most Holy Savior, which he currently leads. As a conductor, he has performed in more than a dozen countries around the world.

Dariusz Zimnicki is engaged in promoting lesser-known and newly discovered works in choral literature. He has prepared and conducted dozens of premieres of vocal and vocal-instrumental works. In addition, his conducting portfolio includes the greatest works by J. S. Bach, G. F. Händel, J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven.

He is extremely active in the competition arena. He has won more than 50 prizes and awards at national and international choral competitions.

He is a postdoctoral degree holder and full professor. His domain is exploring the secrets of efficient work with a vocal ensemble. He has conducted workshops and master classes in Asia, the United States and Europe. He has directed four editions of the Vivat Academia festival of student choirs and is the originator and organizer of eight editions of the International Conference “Personality of the Conductor” on issues of conducting a choir.

He is passionate about composing. He is the author of about 30 choral works (music performed around the world) and numerous choral arrangements of carols, church and folk songs, as well as popular music.
