For those who wish to leave the sounds of the city behind them, look no further than from the pier at the ferry crossing of the lagoon to the Curonian Peninsula, which is also known as Neringa. Legend says, the giantess Neringa gathered an apron full of sand and poured a line of sand dividing the sea from the lagoon, thus making fishermen safer from the perils of the sea. Nowadays, the strip of sand offers much more than safety. Driving through this picturesque narrow stretch, you will stop at the Great „Parnidžio“ dune, which is 52-meters high, and see the magnificent panorama on top of the world-famous dunes. Further, you will walk in the city centre, see the authentic fishermen cottages, beautiful weathervanes, flat traditional boat Kurenas and visit the Mizgirio Amber gallery.

The gardens of the park are a sight that attracts many a visitor, both local and foreign, especially due to the swans that have set up home here.

All guests who come to Palanga are drawn to the Basanavicius promenade, which has recently been refurbished and is now the pride of the resort town. There are cafés, bars and restaurants on both sides of the street. It leads on to the pier, jutting out into the Baltic Sea for 470 meters.
